Ullman Sails is excited to welcome on board Scott Hardy and Sam Patterson as our newest Ullman Sails Cleveland dealers in New England, Connecticut. Sam and Scott can be found at the Boat Locker, which has been Fairfield County’s premiere sailboat dealership since 1957.

Their location in Bridgeport, Connecticut has an 8,000 square foot showroom with 30-foot ceilings, displaying boats, kayaks and standup paddleboards rigged indoors year-round. Now they add Ullman Sails to their extensive list of premier marine products.

Scott Hardy grew up all over the world as the son of corporate gypsies, eventually settling in Connecticut. He bought the Boat Locker in August of 1984 after working there off and on as a teenager and has owned it since.

He’s been instrumental in the growth of dinghy sailing in New England and the United States. Scott was the first to champion the RS Feva in the United States resulting in the explosion of that class on Long Island Sound and beyond.

Scott now lives in Westport, Connecticut with his wife, Mary Ann, and dog, Bosun, and is a recreational pilot in his rare free time away from the Boat Locker.

The other half of the team at Ullman Sails New England, Sam Patterson originally hails from Hampton, Virginia, and grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay before sailing for the University of Virginia in college. He’s spent a significant amount of his sailing career on the Great Lakes and Cleveland, Ohio where he was the inaugural director of The Foundry Community Sailing Center and worked to promote access to the waterfront for all.

Sam lives in the Bridgeport area of Connecticut and can be found racing dinghies at Cedar Point Yacht Club or Riverside Yacht Club pretty much any weekend of the year!
