Originally from Benoni, South Africa, Ian began sailing in his early teens, progressing from Mirrors to Lasers and keelboats. After settling in New York and a long hiatus from sailing, his passion was reignited when his son joined a junior program in Nyack, NY. A member of the Nyack Boat Club, Ian owns a 36-foot Catalina cruiser named "Springbok" and actively races along the Hudson River. When not racing, he enjoys leisurely sails with his family, exploring the waters north to Bear Mountain and south toward New York City. Ian joined Ullman Sails in 2024 and is committed to providing quality sails to the region.
