Tony Strutt has been involved in sailmaking for the past 15 years. He has contributed to numerous projects, including upgrades to the Cape Town loft, such as the erection and setup of a state-of-the-art FiberPath membrane plant. A champion windsurfer, Tony represented South Africa in 1981/82 in Sardinia. He is also trained in information technology and previously served as Managing Director of a leading data storage firm. Dallen returned from Europe in June 2011, where he was managing top race boats such as the Farr 40 Charismaand the Ker 46 Tonnerre, before joining Ullman Sail’s Durban loft. He has a strong background in sail training, having served as chief instructor at one of South Africa’s leading sailing schools. With extensive experience in racing, sail training, and yacht deliveries, Dallen has developed a deep understanding of the needs of both cruising and racing boats, enabling him to provide Ullman Sail’s clients with expert advice.
In 2020, Dallen relocated to Cape Town to take on the role of Key Accounts Manager, where he is responsible for overseeing OEM clients and ensuring their needs are met with precision and care.

Sandy joined Ullman Sails in June 2017 after running her own business in Durban for 8 years. In October 2018, Sandy took over as Manager of the One Design Loft. She was the Assistant Manager for just over a year. She previously worked for South African Sailing for 7 years and has been the Administrator for IRC for 14 years and also assists with ORC. Sandy is very involved with sailing administration. Sandy also has been involved with 7 Vasco da Gama Ocean Races and 1 Mauritius to Durban Race. She is very active in the sailing scene in Durban and can be found at most events being held.Towards the end of 2020 the One Design loft in Durban was moved to Cape Town. Sandy was appointed Area Sales Manager for KZN, Gauteng and the Free State. Sandy is also responsible for social media and sponsorship requests for the South African loft.

As part of the Ullman Sails South Africa team, Morgan brings a depth of sailing experience shaped by years of competition and involvement in the sport. With a strong background in competitive dinghy sailing, he distinguished himself in the Finn class and represented South Africa at the GP14 World Championship in 2000.

He is also an accomplished keelboat sailor, having secured multiple ORC and IRC National Championship titles. A two-time Lipton Cup competitor, Morgan continues to remain active on the racing circuit.

Matthew joined the group in 2024, bringing with him a wealth of offshore and inshore racing experience. He has secured victories in prestigious events such as the Cape to Rio, Round Britain and Ireland, the Caribbean 600, Key West, Cork Week, Cowes Week, and the Middle Sea Race. A defining moment in his sailing career was becoming the first South African to compete in the legendary Mini Transat 6.50—a solo transatlantic race from France to Brazil—where he achieved an impressive 9th-place finish.

Wesley began his career in sailmaking immediately after finishing high school in 2006 and has remained dedicated to the craft ever since. With sailmaking as his sole profession, he has developed deep expertise and a passion for the industry. What continues to drive him is the ever-evolving nature of the sport — as boats become faster and more advanced, the demands on sails change too, presenting constant new challenges and opportunities for innovation.

A notable milestone in Wesley’s career has been earning a promotion to a management position, followed by a transition into a sales representative role. These achievements reflect both technical skill and a strong commitment to client service and leadership within the sailmaking industry.
